2017-2019 In-Colors Retiring Soon, and a Sale-a-Bration Project

With just a couple of days left in Sale-a-Bration, I decided to do a last minute project with the 2017-2019 In-Colors that will be retiring as of May 31st. Every year, we have five In Colors that retire with the end of the annual catalog, and five new In Colors are introduced in the new annual catalog. And every year when it gets close to the end of the catalog cycle, everyone tries to stock up on these colors (ink, paper, embellishments, ribbon) and it’s a good bet they may not last until the end of the cycle.

All of the cards were made using colored cardstock in the appropriate color, and Whisper White. The striped piece is from the 2017-2019 In-Colors 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper, and the ribbon is the Whisper White 5/8″ Flax Ribbon. I intended to use the Mini Ruffled Ribbon in each of the In-Colors for the strip across the card (and instead of the Flax Ribbon) but after I started the cards, I realized I didn’t have any. I will be correcting that with my next order! But I do like the way the card turned out the way it is.

The stamp set I used on the cards is the free Sale-a-Bration set All Adorned. I only used two stamps – one for the background and one for the sentiment, as I wanted to keep this card simple and quick. But the stamps in this set can be combined to make some gorgeous and elaborate looking (still pretty simple) designs.

For the Mini Pizza Boxes (another Sale-a-Bration freebie), I just used the leftover Designer Series Paper that I trimmed for the cards. Each card and box set used only one sheet of the DSP, with only a few tiny pieces left over. The sentiment on the Mini Pizza Boxes is from the Part of My Story set, which is also a free Sale-a-Bration set. It contains several great sentiments you can pair with other stamp sets or use on its own to make cards for many different occasions.

The 2017-2019 In-Colors Products

I’ve put links to each of the products used in the cards and treat boxes below and also added the ribbon, markers and ink refills in the five In-Colors. The best part is if you buy the items in the first four rows, your total will be enough to earn both stamp sets and a packages of Mini Pizza Boxes for free. AND if you add a package each of the 2017-2019 In Colors (the fifth row below), you will not only be well-stocked on the retiring paper, but you’ll also earn another Sale-a-Bration item of your choice. More Mini Pizza Boxes perhaps? Or maybe another stamp set – there are some great ones. You’ll also earn Stampin’ Rewards on your order, and can choose anything you want in the current catalogs for your Stampin’ Rewards.

Product List

If you want to get the 2017-2019 In-Colors before they start disappearing, go to my shop here and get started, or you can contact me here if you have any questions. Be sure to get your order in by March 31st to get your Sale-a-Bration items. After that, Sale-a-Bration is over, and the free sets are gone!

Card Measurements

For the card, I used a piece of 2017-2019 In-Colors cardstock 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ and scored at 4 1/4″ for the card base. I selected a stamp from the All Adorned set and stamped it three times across the top of the card, by the fold. The stripes are the 2017-2019 In-Colors Designer Series Paper cut at 5 1/4″ x 2 1/2. The “belt” is a strip of Whisper White cardstock 5 1/2″ x 1/2″ and a strip of the In-Color cardstock 5 1/2″ x 1/4″. The sentiment is also from the All Adorned set and is stamped with the 2017-2019 In-Colors ink on a piece of Whisper White cardstock 2″ x 1 1/2″.

I adhered the cardstock with Liquid Multi Purpose Glue, and added a piece of Whisper White Flax Ribbon about 5 1/2″ (ish) folded in half with Mini Glue Dots, and the sentiment piece on top with Stampin’ Dimensionals. On the inside, I used a piece of Whisper White cardstock 5 1/4″ x 4″ and stamped the same stamp from the front on the bottom corner. This gives you a place to write on the inside, and the stamped corner just ties it all together. AND you can use the Stampin Write markers in the same In-Color to write your message. Add an envelope, maybe stamp the same stamp on the front corner, and you’re all coordinated.

Treat Box Measurements

For the Mini Pizza Box, I used the rest of the piece of the 2017-2019 In-Colors Designer Series Paper in each color. The top is 3 1/4″ x 3 1/4″. I turned it over so the dots would show instead of the stripes. On the sides, the strips are 3″ x 1 1/2″, and the front and back are 3 1/2″ x 3/4″. I liked the look of the strips on the sides more than the dots, but either way looks good. The sentiment is from the Part of My Story stamp set, stamped on a piece of Whisper White cardstock 3″ x 1″ and cut into a pennant shape on one end, adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Both the card and the treat box are very simple, and together they would make a cute little card and gift to give. Fill the treat box with candy or a cookie, a little piece of jewelry, or any small item you can think off. The recipient will love it!

Hope you liked the project. I love these colors and will be sorry when they are gone. Happy Stamping!
